Salahuddin Bakery​ at Jalan Tan Hiok Nee

No much changed at Salahuddin’s since the bakery started the business here in 1937. Salahuddin Bakery has stayed in the same lot for 79 years, and is one of the oldest bakeries in Johor! The family who runs the bakery moved here from New Delhi and haven’t looked back since, opening their shop as early as 6am, with most of the delicious charcoal oven-baked goods running out by 11am. Last but not least, the famous Hiap Joo Bakery! Hiap Joo is one of Johor’s oldest and best known traditional bakery offering good fresh malt-flavoured breads and aromatic banana cakes. Hiap Joo bakery, which customers include the Sultan of Johor, has been operating since 1919. Like Salahuddin Bakery, Hiap Joo Bakery also uses a wood fire oven from 1919.
