How to Apply Vehicle Entry Permit Malaysia(VEP)?

Step 1:

Create a VEP Malaysia account at the website and activate your VEP account upon receiving the email prompting you to do so.

Step 2:

Log in to your VEP Malaysia account and register your vehicle, you will need to input your personal details (including your NRIC, Passport number and address), as well as comprehensive details of your vehicle (including the chassis number and engine number, you can retrieve these information from your vehicle’s log card. You will also have to input your vehicle’s insurance information as per the cover note).

Step 3:

Where to Collect Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP Malaysia)?

Your Vehicle Entry Permit Malaysia RFID tag can be collected at four locations:

1. Lima Kedai Toll Plaza
2. Pandan RnR
3. Gelang Patah Southbound RnR
4. Plaza Angsana Open Carpark C

The Vehicle Entry Permit Malaysia RFID tag will be attached by the VEP staff on the inner side of the windscreen, behind the rear view mirror or on the head light (if the RFID tag can’t be attached on the windscreen due to technical reasons).

How to Collect Vehicle Entry Permit Malaysia (VEP)?

1. Place your documents in an A4 tray on the enquiry desk and wait to be called over.

2. When your number plate is called, proceed over to the enquiry desk to go over all documents with the staff. You will receive a queue number if all required documents are present.

3. Once your queue number is called, proceed over to the counter and pass all documents to the staff.

4. Your queue number will be called again. This time, proceed to the counter and make a payment of RM10 and you will receive a set of documents and the Vehicle Entry Permit Malaysia RFID tag.

5. Pass the documents and VEP Malaysia RFID tag to the staff manning the counter in charge of pasting the Vehicle Entry Permit Malaysia RFID tag.

6. Drive your vehicle over to the counter. Vehicle Entry Permit Malaysia staff will proceed to paste the VEP Malaysia RFID tag on your vehicle’s windscreen.

It is important to place the VEP RFID tag correctly so that it can be detected by the RFID readers installed at every lane in the CIQ Complex.

Prior to entering Malaysia, vehicle owners must ensure that their vehicles have a valid VEP and all pertinent information such as Road Tax, Insurance, International Circulation Permit (ICP) or/and Certificate of Entitlement (COE) is duly updated through this portal. If there is a change in vehicle ownership, the transferee (buyer) must ensure that the transferor (seller) deregisters the said vehicle.

It is an offence for a foreign-registered vehicle to overstay in Malaysia. If the vehicle needs to be in Malaysia beyond 3 calendar months, vehicle owners or their representatives must inform the Road Transport Department, Malaysia and Custom offices of their plan to extend their period of stay. They must bring along the following:

  • Passport (owner or representative)
  • Vehicle Registration document

Persons With Disability (PWD) are required to have with them their certificates when collecting their VEP RFID tags.

Foreign-registered motorcycles are also required to enroll for the VEP from Singapore to Malaysia. However, owners of these motorcycles will only receive VEP RFID tags at a later date that will be announced by the Ministry of Transport, Malaysia.
