The height of Gunung Ledang is 1276m high (4186ft). It is the highest mountain in Johor state. As the location is accessible, it has become one of the most popular and frequent climbed mountains in Malaysia. This mountain commenced its operations in July 2003 and had been gazetted as a Johor National Park on 3 october 2005.

It is a 5 to 6 hour energetic hike to the summit for a reasonably fit person. There are some steep rocky faces to negotiate with the aid of ropes. Accidents happen and there have been some fatalities which is why it is compulsory to engage a guide from the Ranger’s office.

Climbers will experience a refreshing challenge and a test of stamina. While visitors will have plenty to explore as they make their way up to the summit. Gunung PULAI

Gunung Pulai is a mountain 654 meters tall located in Johor, Peninsular Malaysia. It is a popular hiking spot for the locals and Singaporean due to easy access. Gunung Pulai is located at Kampung Sri Gunung Pulai, about 12km south-west of Kulai town, or 19km north west from Johor Bahru central. The trail head of Gunung Pulai is located about 30-50 meters on the road from the car park.

Parking: RM2 for cars, and RM0.50 for motorcycles. During the weekends, the car park gets full quickly and vehicles are parked by the roadside for free. Take note not to obstruct traffic while parking by the roadside.

TANJUNG PIAI NATIONAL PARK

Tanjung Piai is located 90 km south of Johor Bahru’s city centre. Its natural wonders have been gazetted into a National Park. The beautiful mangroves which important for their resilience, are one of the mainstays to sustainable growth of the various mangrove wildlife. The only entrance to the park is through Desa Sri Piai, which requires visitors to drive, allowing them to arrive closer to the National Park Visitors Complex.

Visitors need to wear loose clothing, comfortable shoes and hats since the weather may be unforgivably hot during the day. Binoculars may also be wise as there is plenty of wildlife to see.
The park provides a great opportunity to observe the wealth of flora and fauna that are available in coastal mangroves.

Lucky visitors will be able to observe the elusive dusky leaf monkeys, apart from the ubiquitous long-tailed macaques. The wooden boardwalk constructed by Johor National Park Corporation leads visitors to the observation towers, gazebos and fishing platforms. One of the jetties stretches far out to the sea, providing fantastic views during sunset.
