2) Sultan Abu Bakar State Mosque
Sultan Abu Bakar State Mosque was built over a period of eight years from 1892. It is a combination between British colonial architecture and traditional Islamic motifs. Besides, it is also one of the mosque’s main features is the four minarets on top which look like traditional British clock towers. The interior is much covered with white marble and a beautiful blend of characteristic Victorian design mixed with Moorish motifs can be seen. 3) Arulmigu Sri Rajakaliamman Glass Temple
The Arulmigu Sri Rajakaliamman Glass Temple is one of the most important buildings for the Hindu community in Johor Bahru. It was the first Hindu building in the world to be made of glass. Both the inside and the outside are covered with glass that makes it shine in the sunlight, and you will find statues of Christ and Buddha inside even though this is a predominantly Hindu building. Istana Bukit Serene is now the Johor Sultan’s official residence and is not open to the public as such.
